Director of Mergers & Acquisitions – Vancouver

The Director Mergers & Acquisitions of AgriFORCE Growing Systems Ltd. will develop and lead the entire M&A department and be responsible for defining the process, assembling the core tools and models and administering a governance process to ensure decision making and organizational alignment.  The Director M&A’s duties will encompass the entire merger and acquisition life-cycle; working with the CEO and Chief Strategy and Business Development officer to identify potential targets for acquisition, working with the Company’s CFO and investment bankers to identify opportunities to utilize leverage, equity or existing cash resources and, where required, manage regulatory agencies to expedite the deal process. The goal for the role is to support corporate and business development strategy by identifying, vetting and providing diligence and recommendations with respect to potential acquisition targets allowing the Company to achieve its yearly non-organic growth objectives.  Additionally, the Director M&A will be an integral part of the post acquisition integration process working with the CFO, Operations , Human Resources and the Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer to address and mitigate risks and weaknesses identified in the pre-acquisition assessment and due diligence process; and assist in the process if identifying resource requirements.

We are seeking candidates with a University degree in Commerce, Finance, Business or related discipline; (MBA or equivalent experience preferred) coupled with 10+ years of relevant work experience in investment banking or strategy and corporate development in a technology/knowledge-based company. The successful candidate will be skilled in strategy development, including project prioritization, hypotheses development, financial and business modeling, strategic options identification, consensus building, and implementation and possess the ability to identify, prioritize, structure, and solve sophisticated business problems. Excellent communication and negotiation skills and the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders at all levels are also essential to the role.
